Illegal poppy cultivation destroyed by BSF at India-Bangladesh border
Guwahati: Members of the Guwahati Frontier Border Security Force (BSF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau on March 3 in Kolkata conducted a joint operation to eradicate illegal poppy cultivation in the villages of Balasi and Beltapara, which are under the jurisdiction of the Mathabhanga District-Coochbehar Police Station (WB).
The BSF stated in a statement that roughly 12 bigha of poppy cultivation were destroyed during the operation and noted that its forces are constantly on the lookout for concerns with such criminal enterprises and transnational crimes.
