Guwahati: An active cadre of PREPAK-Progressive (People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive) was arrested in Manipur on March 5.
The Assam Rifles’ Phundrei Battalion working under the guidance of HQ IGAR (South) arrested the insurgent in Hiyanglam in the Kakching district of Manipur.
On the basis of specific intelligence indicating the presence of a Prepak Pro cadre engaged in illicit acts like extortion, the Assam Rifles and the CDO representative conducted a joint operation which resulted in the arrested of an operational Prepak Pro Cadre at Hiyanglam, Kakching District, according to a press release.
The statement claims that the apprehended individual has been handed over to Hiyanglam Police for further investigation and any required legal action.
