Guwahati: On International Women’s Day, a terrible incident involving a pregnant woman being attacked by illegal liquor merchants in Assam has come to light.
The incident occurred today near Halogaon in the Kamrup district of Assam.
According to reports, the nine-month pregnant woman was attacked by illicit liquor dealers in the area.
Reportedly, the pregnant woman sustained severe injuries as a result of the assault. She was immediately rushed to the First Referral Unit (FRU) hospital.
Reports stated that the incident occurred after the pregnant woman objected to the illegal sale of alcohol in the area, which led to numerous women sellers attacking her.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched after the victim filed a complaint about the incident to the Sualkuchi Police Station.
It is sad and unfortunate to say the least that a pregnant woman was attacked on International Women’s Day. The tragic attack has left people to wonder where humanity has gone.
