Guwahati: In the midst of Holi celebrations, a horrific murder case was reported in the Bongaigaon district of Assam.
As per reports, a youth was killed and two others were injured in an alleged knife attack by a malafide inside a mandir premises on Wednesday
The incident occurred at the mandir in Pallirtal Palpara in Jogighopa during Doul Utsav which was held in honour of Holi.
Reportedly, the accused stabbed and killed the victim Tarani Das with a knife after an altercation regarding the distribution of prasad. Two additional people attempted to stop the accused but also suffered injuries.
The accused has been identified as one Krishna Shill.
It is suspected two youths were reportedly in an inebriated state during the incident.
The two victims were identified as Robin Chandra Shill and Shadhon Paul and both were taken to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, local police arrived at the site and arrested the suspect. A case under relevant sections was registered against him.
