Three Arrested With 1.3 Kg Heroin Along Assam-Mizoram Border
Guwahati: In an ongoing war against drugs, Assam Police seized a whopping 1.3 kg of heroin from a vehicle and arrested three people in connection from Karimganj district along the Assam-Mizoram border.
Based on specific inputs, a squad of police officials set up Naka to check on the route at the Kontekchera area under Bazaricherra police station.
During the checking, one vehicle was intercepted which was coming from Mizoram’s side.
Upon searching, 100 soap cases of drugs containing 1.300 kg was recovered from the secret chambers of the vehicle.
This was informed by Partha Pratim Das, Superintendent of Police of Karimganj district.
Moreover, he claimed that the vehicle was coming from Champhai in Mizoram.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
However, the identity of the arrestees is yet to be established.
Further investigation is underway.
