Guwahati: The first-ever Trade Facilitation Fair will take place in Mizoram in 2023. SELCO, a provider of rural energy services will organise the exhibition.

It will highlight more than 40 DRE and livelihood businesses, as well as buildings which provide communities working in Mizoram’s diverse livelihood and health sectors with long-term financial and social growth.

The first-ever Mizoram Trade Facilitation Fair will be held on March 16 and 17, 23 at the Millennium Centre in Aizawl, organised by SELCO Foundation in collaboration with Atal Incubation Centre-SELCO Foundation, Planning and Programme Implementation Department, Government of Mizoram, Northeast Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA), and Mizoram Science Technology and Innovation Council (MISTIC).

Building decentralised & sustainable energy-driven, productive-use assets was identified by the foundation and its organising partners as one of the essential pathways to enable long-term financial and social sustainability for communities involved in various livelihood and health sectors throughout Mizoram.

These environmentally friendly energy-driven solutions increase income diversity and livelihood resilience while reducing climate change. During the two-day event, end-users, CBOs, businesses, and others from all over Mizoram will have the chance to interact with and experience Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) driven productive use solutions for various sectors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Textiles and Crafts, Animal Husbandry, and other related fields.

The gathering of 20+ ecosystem stakeholders including financial institutions, government agencies, non-profit organisations, businesses, incubators and market connections from Mizoram and the rest of Northeast India is anticipated as part of the event. Along with showcasing Mizoram’s indigenous goods created by the FPOs and SHGs of Mizoram, the event offers 40+ DRE and livelihood enterprises from AIC-Selco Foundation and the Mizoram Science, Technology and Innovation Council a strong platform for future engagements and collaborations with state and district-level stakeholders.
