Assam: Army Personnel Held ULFA(I) Cadre in Tinsukia
Guwahati: One ULFA-Independent (ULFA-I) cadre was arrested on March 18 from Tinsukia district of Assam as a result of a successful action carried out by the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army under the supervision of Spear Corps.
The ULFA(I) cadre was arrested in Bisa Gaon in the Tinsukia district of Lekhapani.
The operation was started based on unique information about the movement of a suspected cadre carrying a weapon in the Lekhapani region.
The arrested individual has been identified as Subash Chetry, a resident of Dibong Bari.
One 7.62 mm pistol with four live rounds was recovered from the cadre.
The cadre eventually admitted to having connections to ULFA(I) when being questioned by Army officials.
