Assam: Dhubri Police Destroys Drugs Worth Rs 3 Crore 17 Lakh
Guwahati: Dhubri district administration destroyed numerous types of illegal substances that had been confiscated from several police stations throughout the district and were found in a brick kiln in Gauripur on March 22.
The drugs were burned in front of representatives from the district administration and pollution control department.
A total of 90 kg of marijuana, 600 grammes of heroin, 16 illegal tablets, and 22,000 bottles of confiscated cough syrups were destroyed in the Dhubri district.
Throughout the raids over the past year, numerous drugs and illegal objects have been seized by several police stations throughout the district.
Around 200 people were arrested in connection with the seizure and a total of 146 FIRs were filed in relation to the incident.
The substancess that were confiscated are estimated to be worth Rs 3 crore and 17 lakh.
The media was informed by Superintendent of Police Aparna Natarajan that the police would continue their anti-drug campaign in coming days as well.
