Assam: Bharat Gaurav Train Commences its 15-Day Tour to Cover 5 NE States
Guwahati: Bharat Gaurav Train “North East Discovery: Beyond Guwahati,” a specially created tour to visit the North Eastern states of India, departed from Delhi Safdarjung station.
The train tour which started its tour from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway reached Guwahati today and will take 15 days to go through the states of Assam, Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya, as well as Sivasagar, Jorhat and Kaziranga in Assam, Unakoti in Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura.
The tourists will travel by train for around 5800 kilometres throughout the course of this journey, according to the Railways Ministry.
The journey will go for 15 days and 14 nights. Guwahati is the train’s first stop.
The next stop on this train’s nighttime journey would be Naharlagun Railway Station which is located 30 kilometres away from the final destination, Itanagar. Sivasagar is the following city.
The traveller will also go to Jorhat’s tea estates, stay the night there and then go on an early-morning jungle safari at Kaziranga National Park.
The Tourist Train then departs for the state of Tripura from the Furkating Railway Station.
After Tripura, the train will leave towards Dimapur where passengers can travel to Nagaland. The early-morning passengers can observe the beautiful train ride from Badarpur station to Lumding Jn.
Buses will take tourists to Kohima from Dimapur station so they can tour the sites including the Khonoma village. Before the train heads back to Delhi it will stop in Cherrapunji, Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Nawkhalikai falls and Mawsmai caves.
There are two different types of accommodations available on the fully air-conditioned train: AC I and AC II.
In addition, the train contains security systems including CCTV cameras, electronic safes and security officers assigned specifically to each coach.
The 15-day all-inclusive trip package offered by the IRCTC tourist train will start at INR 1,06,990 per person in AC 2 Tier.
