Guwahati: Raju Das of Assam was appointed to serve as Secretary of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, an organisation under the Ministry of Culture on March 27.
The first person from Assam and the North East to hold the highest administrative position (Secretary) of the Sangeet Natak Akademi is Das who is from the Sivasagar district of Assam.
He joined Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2005 as a program officer and later held the position of Deputy Secretary (Coordinator).
Das also take over as the Sattriya Kendra director, an Assamese organisation run by the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
Das started his teaching career at Lucknow’s Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya.
