Assam CM: PM Modi to Dedicate Rs 7,280 Crore Railway Projects to Assam
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate 700 kilometres of new railway infrastructure worth Rs 7,280 crore in order to increase connectivity in the northeast.
The projects include:
- 86 km railway line from Gauripur- Abahypuri
- 102 km railway line from New Boingaon to Dhdhpara
- 147 km double line from Digaru to Lumding
- 512 km of electrified railway track
PM Modi’s commitment to development during his visit to Assam now stands at Rs 14,300 crore.
Chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on April 9 that on April 14 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for a number of development projects totaling Rs 8,000 crore in Assam.
CM Sarma was announcing PM Modi’s visit to the state for Bohag Bihu while speaking at a news conference.
Prior to the PM’s arrival, CM Sarma announced a number of projects that will be launched by the PM Modi including the inauguration of the 750-bed AIIMS Guwahati at Changsari which was constructed for Rs 1,123 crore.
Additionally, Modi will dedicate three new medical college with 1,500 beds each in Nalbari, Nagaon and Kokrajhar each of which cost Rs 1,600 crore.
1.10 crore beneficiaries will also receive AB-PMJAY cards from PM Modi.
PM Modi will also lay the founder stone for the $3,197 million bridge between Palashbari and Sualkuchi providing a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure.
