Assam Tops in Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme
Guwahati: Good news for the farmers of Assam. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is a scheme being implemented across the country under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
This scheme has been implemented across the country as well as in Assam for the last few years with the aim of providing financial relief to the farmers against the possible damage caused due to natural calamities like floods, drought, erosion etc. and also due to harmful insects and diseases. The state government has been successful in implementing this scheme.
A large number of farmers in the state have already got financial relief under this scheme through insuring some of the notified crops.
The good news for the state is that due to the remarkable performance shown in the implementation of the Kharif Season Belika Scheme of 2022, Assam has been able to occupy the first position among the A2 category provinces of the country.
The award was presented at the national level convention of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana held at Raipur in Chhattisgarh on April 14. The award was received by nodal officer Makibur Rahman on behalf of the Assam government. The news has enthused the farmers of the state.
