Assam: AGP Planning to Contest In Four Seats In LS Polls 2024
Guwahati: Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) is planning to contest in four seats in Assam in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which are expected to take place next year.
According to reports, party MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita informed this on Friday.
He said they will make an effort to win at least one of the constituency out of 14 constituencies in the state.
Speaking to the media, Kalita said he will ask the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to provide the AGP preferential seating.
AGP worker conferences have previously been held in Kaliabor, Mangaldoi, Tezpur and Nagaon at the same time. This shows how serious the party is about the approaching elections.
Reportedly, AGP’s decision to run for four seats might have a big impact on elections especially in the contituencies where the party is well-represented.
Additionally, the party’s decision to run for a seat following the Guwahati Executive’s Meeting is anticipated to clarify the AGP’s election plan.
