Guwahati: A seven-year-old child died after being attacked by a tiger in Dibrugarh district of Assam on Tuesday.
The unfortunate incident, which took place in the Satispur Tea Estate in Namrup, is said to have involved a young boy who was killed by a tiger when it attacked him.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Satispur Tea Estate in Namrup.
Reportedly, the body of the minor boy was found in the tea estate on Monday night.
Earlier, a leopard attacked a child in the Sivasagar district of Assam in January who was severely injured.
The incident was reported from the Amguri village of Aboipuria Nara.
The boy identified as Ujjal Gogoi was attacked by the leopard while he was playing near his home.
According to reports, it is suspected that the leopard may have straying into the village in quest of food.
Later, the child was taken to a hospital in Amguri for further treatment. Fortunately, the attack was not fatal and the doctors said that he would recover.
