Guwahati Police Seized 10K Yaba Tablets, 7 Held

Guwahati, 6 Many: At least seven alleged drug traffickers have been arrested by the Guwahati police in Assam as a result of a successful operation against illegal substances that took place around the city. Hamidullah and Nazer Hussain from Thoubal in Manipur, Abdul Haque from Rajabala in Meghalaya, Motibur Bhuyan from Hatsingimari in Assam as well as Ebad Hussain Abdul Adut and Mistan Hoque from South Salmara were among the suspects who were apprehended. Further inquiries are being conducted since the authorities believe they are involved in national and international drug trafficking.

Four alleged drug dealers were detained at AK Azad Road by police teams from the WGPD and Fatasil Ambari Police Station during a separate operation. 25 vials and 2.5 gms of heroin, together with two cellphones and one vehicle, were taken from them by the police. Himango Borah from Rupnagar, Saidul Haque from Machkhowa, Arjun Mallick from Rupnagar and Adam Ali from Latasil were the names of the people who were taken into custody.

All of the suspects have been charged by the police and further inquiries are being made to identify the larger network of drug trafficking in the area. The recent arrests represent a huge victory for the Guwahati police in their campaign to stop the illegal drug trade. The police have been harshly cracking down on drug trafficking in the region.
