Indian Medical Association Condemns Kamrup DC’s On Camera Misbehaviour
Guwahati, May 7: Kamrup district deputy commissioner was shown in a viral video clip acting inappropriately with a senior physician who was working at the Singimari model hospital. The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Assam State Branch has expressed extreme concern and anger over the incident. The Minister of Health & Family Welfare has been urged by the IMA Assam State Branch to take the appropriate action to stop such situations from happening in the future. The IMA Assam State Branch has strongly denounced the district head’s actions.
The largest group of doctors practicing contemporary medicine, the IMA Assam State Branch declared that it always protects the dignity of medical professionals. They claimed that the public exhibition of misbehavior by the highest representative of the constitution has left the association’s members and the broader doctor community in great agony.
Dr. Arunima Goswami, the state president of the IMA Assam State Branch has pleaded with the health minister to take appropriate action to stop similar situations from occurring in future. The medical community anticipates that all essential steps will be taken to protect doctors and other medical professionals’ safety and dignity.
