AMCH Murder Case: Dr Sarita Toshniwal Murder Case Verdict, Ward Boy Convicted

Guwahati, 17 May: At the end of nine long years, the Dibrugarh Sessions Judge’s Court has pronounced its verdict in the Dr Sarita Toshniwal murder case. The verdict in the case convicted Keru Mech in connection with the sensational murder of Dr Sarita Toshniwal .

Meanwhile, the sessions judge’s court acquitted the accused doctor Deepmoni Saikia. The sensational murder that took place on May 9, 2014, was the day of the final verdict today i.e. Wednesday. However, the court will pronounce the final hearing on whether the sentence of ward boy Keru Mech will be sentenced to life imprisonment or hanging tomorrow i.e. Thursday.

It is to be noted that the body of the youngest doctor Dr. Sarita Toshniwal was killed in ICU of Assam Medical College on May 10, 2014. On May 9, 2014, Nisha was accused of killing Dr. Sarita Toshniwal while working in the ICU of the obstetrics and gynecology department of AMCH.

Following this, the Dibrugarh police arrested Dr Deepmoni Saikia and ward boy Kiru Mesh and conducted an investigation. But finally, Dr Deepmoni Saikia a doctor involved in the incident was acquitted by the Sessions Judge Court in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

The court will announce on Thursday whether the sentence of ward boy Keru Mech will be sentenced to life imprisonment even if convicted. Meanwhile, Dr Sarita Toshniwal’s family is not happy with the verdict for which the family will now move to the high court.
