Mob attacks house of union minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in Manipur
Guwahati, June 16: An irate mob on Thursday night attacked the house of union minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in Imphal and partially damaged it.
Rajkumar Ranjan Singh hold the portfolio of minister of state for external affairs in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Police said that a mob attacked the house with hurling petrol bombs after overpowering the security guard on duty. The ministers house is located at Kongba area in Manipur’s capital town Imphal.
The minister was not at home when the incident took place and there is no report of any injury to anyone.
The northeastern state of Manipur has been on the boil since May 3 this year. The clash between the Meiteis and Kuki tribals have so far killed over 100 people and injuring over 300. Thousands of houses belonging to both the Meiteis and Kukis have been torched during the clash since May 3.
On Wednesday, miscreants attacked the house of line female minister of Manipur cabinet, Nemcha Kipgen at Kangkokpi.
