IIT Delhi student found hanging in hostel room
National desk, 9 July: A fourth-year B.Tech student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room, police said on Sunday.
The deceased student have been identified as Ayush, a 20-year-old youth from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred on Saturday at around midnight, according to the police.
“He was a student in the fourth year of IIT. Ayush committed suicide by hanging himself in his Udayagiri hostel last night around 12 o’clock. 20-year-old Ayush was a resident of Bareilly of UP. However, the reason for the suicide is being ascertained through investigation,” the police official said.

Earlier, a 14-year-old girl is suspected of jumping to her death from a building in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector-16.
According to report, the deceased was a student of class 9. A suicide note was recovered in which the deceased mentioned not wanting to study and other suicidal thoughts, Delhi Police had said.
Police Station Dwarka North received information about a student jumping from a building in Sector 16 Dwarka at 05:35 in the morning. An investigation later revealed that a 14-year-old girl was found dead on the ground floor.
