Assam Police Cracks Down on Drunk Driving in Guwahati, Over 50 Offenders Fined
Guwahati, 23rd July: In a determined effort to combat drunk driving and promote road safety, the Assam Police conducted a rigorous operation in Guwahati, resulting in the issuance of fines to over 50 drunk drivers. The operation, under the guidance of DCP Surjeet Singh Panesar, also targeted vehicles with black-tinted windows to ensure strict enforcement.
A sizeable police team was deployed for the intensive drive, which took place in front of Janata Bhawan, displaying the authorities’ firm resolve against reckless driving practices in the city.
The primary objective of this operation is to make the roads safer for all commuters and curb the growing menace of drunk driving. With zero tolerance towards such violations, the Assam Police aims to send a clear and stern message to the public about the consequences of driving under the influence.
