Mother and Brother of Prime Accused in Golaghat Triple Murder Case Arrested
Guwahati, 27th July: In a significant recent development, the police have arrested the mother and brother of the prime accused in the Golaghat triple murder case on Thursday.
Their arrest came a day after they were initially detained by the police for questioning in connection with the case.
Following their arrest, the police presented the duo before a lower court to proceed with legal formalities.
On Wednesday, the police had taken the mother and elder brother of the prime accused into custody for questioning as part of their ongoing investigation.
Ankita Ghosh, the family’s sole survivor, previously told reporters that she made a complaint at the police station in 2022, stating that the mother of the lead accused beat her by yanking her hair while the eldest brother kicked her stomach. However, Ankita went on to say that the police took no action at the time.
After Ankita’s explosive statement was reported in the media, the police immediately detained the prime accused’s brother, Hizbul Rahman, who had been on the run since the incident took place, along with his mother, Saleha Begum, for questioning.
As the investigation continues, authorities are meticulously working to piece together the evidence and facts surrounding the tragic triple murder case. The arrests of the prime accused’s mother and brother signify a crucial step in the pursuit of justice, ensuring that all individuals involved in the heinous crime are held accountable for their actions.
