Accused in Sidhu Moosewala Murder Case Extradited to India
National Desk, 1st August: In a significant development, Sachin Bishnoi, also known as Sachin Thapan, a prime accused in the murder case of Sidhu Moosewala, has been extradited from Baku, Azerbaijan, by the Delhi Police Special Cell.
Bishnoi, a relative of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, had been on the run ever since the sensational murder of Moosewala in May 2022. Reports suggest that Bishnoi, originally from Punjab’s Fazilka, was apprehended in Azerbaijan in August last year.
The accused had allegedly fled to the foreign country using a forged passport just days before Sidu Moosewala’s tragic demise.
Earlier this month, another key aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, Vikramjeet Singh, also known as Vikram Brar, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after being deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Delhi’s Mandoli prison, has vehemently denied any involvement in the killing of Moosewala.
The unfortunate incident occurred on May 29 last year in Mansa, where Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead at point-blank range, and he was declared dead upon arrival at the Mansa civil hospital. It is noteworthy that the fatal incident transpired just a day after the Punjab government curtailed his security cover. The government had withdrawn the security cover of 424 individuals, including Moosewala, just two days prior to the tragic event.
As Sachin Bishnoi faces justice on Indian soil, the investigation continues to unveil the truth behind this high-profile murder case, seeking accountability for the untimely loss of Sidhu Moosewala.
