Guwahati, 3rd July: Tragedy struck on Thursday as two auto-rickshaws collided head-on in Karimganj district, claiming the life of a woman and leaving four other passengers with serious injuries.
Preliminary reports suggest that the two auto-rickshaws were traveling in opposite directions when the collision occurred, resulting in a devastating accident.
The deceased woman, identified as Rahima Begum from Kawalgaon in Karimganj district, tragically lost her life on the spot.
Meanwhile, the injured passengers were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
Local authorities swiftly arrived at the scene to handle the situation and initiated an investigation into the cause of the collision.
This incident adds to the growing concern over road safety in the state, despite ongoing efforts by the government to minimize such accidents.
