Minor Boy Allegedly Flees Orphanage, Rescued in Guwahati

Guwahati, 11th August: A minor boy reportedly fled from an orphanage in Tezpur, Assam, and arrived in Guwahati, creating a stir in the community. The incident came to light when the child, whose identity remains undisclosed for security reasons, arrived by bus in Guwahati’s Lokhra area on Thursday evening. A local resident took notice of the child and promptly rescued him.

The minor boy, claiming to be around 10 years old, shared that he had fled from an orphanage in Tezpur and embarked on his journey to Guwahati. The kind-hearted local who found him expressed concern for the child’s well-being and safety. “I saw him abandoned, so I took him to my room where he spent the night. As I have no idea of his whereabouts or whether he is telling the truth, I called the police to make sure he is taken care of.” the rescuer explained.

Amid the incident, allegations of physical abuse against the authorities of the orphanage the child had fled from have surfaced. Concerned locals reported the matter to Garchuk Police and handed over the minor boy into their care. The incident has sparked discussions about the safety and well-being of children in institutions across the state.
