Three-day Food Festival gets underway at Assam House in New Delhi
National Desk, 19th August: A three-day food festival showcasing Assam’s cuisine is underway at Assam House premises at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Marg in Delhi on Sunday.
The festival which began on Friday is being organised by the Assam Tourism in association with the Ministry of Tourism and the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Assam House.
Various food stalls showcasing Assamese delicacies have come up, besides stalls displaying handloom and handicraft products.
As part of EK Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the festival is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with different states and union territories with the aim to showcase state-specific cuisine and promote awareness of the unique offerings within each region, while fostering a sense of togetherness.
The event is being held at state houses of the participating states. Altogether 23 states and UTs, including Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Mizoram, West Bengal, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Nagaland are taking part in the event.
