Guwahati, 22nd August: A tragic incident unfolded on the outskirts of Guwahati city as two women lost their lives after being run over by a speeding train in the Chandrapur area. The victims have been identified as Jabada and Hamida Khatun.
Despite suffering severe injuries from the impact, both women initially survived being hit by the train. They were rushed to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment. However, their injuries proved fatal, and they succumbed to their wounds.
The unfortunate incident occurred at a railway crossing in the Hatisila area. The victims were reportedly employed as workers at the nearby SRB brick factory.
The incident highlights the critical need for caution and adherence to safety measures around railway tracks and crossings to prevent such tragic accidents.
