Guwahati, 25th August: In a recent development, the police custody of Diban Deka, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha, has been extended by three days, as reported on Friday. Diban Deka is a significant accused in the case involving the death of BJP Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar.
Sources reveal that the Guwahati Police had requested an extension of five days for Deka’s custody. Earlier, Diban Deka was apprehended by Chandmari Police due to his alleged involvement in disseminating objectionable images of the late BJP Kisan Morcha leader on August 18. Subsequently, he was remanded to seven-day police custody.
Diban Deka’s custody was granted to the police by the court on August 19.
