Multiple Arrests in Manipur: Insurgent Group Members Apprehended
Northeast Desk, 29th August: In a series of separate search operations in various districts of Manipur, security forces have arrested an active cadre each from three proscribed insurgent groups. The individuals arrested belong to the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the National Socialist Council of Nagalim Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM), and two overground workers of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).
The search operations were conducted in areas considered to be on the fringes and vulnerable parts of Imphal-West, Imphal-East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, and Kakching districts.
During these operations, law enforcement recovered six firearms, five ammunition, and two explosives in the Imphal-East and Bishnupur districts.
The arrests took place on Monday, marking a significant move by security forces in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
