Northeast Desk, 7th September: In a significant operation, a joint team comprising Assam Rifles and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Manipur Police successfully recovered a cache of weapons, including a Self Loading Rifle (SLR), two grenades, and other war-like materials. This operation took place in the vicinity of an Eco-Tourism park located in the Gwarok foothills of Thoubal district.
The operation was launched based on credible intelligence indicating the presence of these weapons and war-related items in the area. Following the recovery, the items were handed over to the Khongjom police station for further investigation.
The successful retrieval of these weapons is a noteworthy achievement for the security forces, preventing them from falling into the wrong hands. Ongoing investigations will aim to ascertain the ownership and intended use of these weapons.
