Meghalaya: National Highway 6 Upgrade Set to Begin
Northeast Desk, 8th September: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong announced that the upgrade of National Highway 6 from Jowai-Lumshnong to Ratacherra is likely to commence next week.
A company will be appointed to oversee the road project in November.
Tynsong held a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), where a decision was made to accelerate repair work on the Shillong-Dawki road.
This initiative is expected to enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
