Incident at DNLA Designated Camp in Maibang Results in Injuries
Guwahati, 15th September: In the early hours of Friday at around 1 am, an incident occurred at a Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) designated camp in Maibang. During the incident, one DNLA cadre sustained serious injuries, while two others sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured cadre was hospitalized at Maibang Hospital.
It has been reported that armless DNLA cadres have been residing at the designated camp following a ceasefire and an agreement reached between the organization and the state and central governments.
According to reports, a police team arrived at the DNLA designated camp, called out the cadres on their mobile phones, and fired at them, resulting in three injuries. One person, identified as Ali Dimasa, was killed, while Tinjon Dimasa, Soth Dimasa, and Rainbow Dimasa sustained injuries.
The incident has raised concerns about the violation of the agreement with the union government, and local authorities have been urged to conduct a proper inquiry into the incident and take action against the armed group responsible for opening fire on unarmed DNLA cadres.
