STF Thwarts Drug Consignment in Guwahati, Six Arrested
Guwahati, 23rd September: Acting on credible information regarding a potential drug consignment, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) launched an operation in Guwahati to prevent the criminal activity. The operation resulted in the successful apprehension of six alleged drug peddlers and the seizure of 46 grams of heroin concealed in 33 vials at Khanapara, Guwahati.
The following names have been given to those who have been arrested:
- Sanjay Biswa 28 YO from Bornihat, Meghalaya
- Avtar Singh 30 YO from Natun Bazar, Basistha
- Shyamal Pegu 19 YO from Dhangdhora, Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur
- Bikash Ali 23 YO from Kopalkata Sonapur
- Nayan Talukdar 28 YO from Udaynagar, Koynadhara, Guwahati
- Yuvraj Kalyan 24 YO from Punjabi colony, Dispur Last Gate, Guwahati
The seized heroin and the arrested suspects have been handed over to the local Basistha Police Station for further legal proceedings and case registration.
