Assam Signs MoU for Record Investment of Rs 11,314 Crore, Promises Over 10,000 Jobs

Guwahati, 23rd September: In a significant move towards progress and industrialization, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a record investment of Rs 11,314 crore in Assam. This substantial investment is expected to create over 10,000 jobs in the state.

During the event held at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati’s Dispur, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted Assam’s remarkable journey towards industrial growth and transformation into an industrial hub capable of attracting substantial investments.

CM Sarma expressed his commitment to developing Assam into an industrial powerhouse and mentioned that the state has already secured MoUs worth Rs 8,000 crore with eight industries. The latest MoU signing has initiated projects worth Rs 3,114 crore, with a systematic consideration process following specified regulations.

Anticipating even greater investments in the future, CM Sarma revealed that Assam aims to secure Rs 50,000 crore in investments next year. He expressed his amazement at the unprecedented industrial interest during his 21 years of ministry.

To further facilitate industrial growth, Sarma emphasized the need for quick progress and a hassle-free environment for industries. He urged the public to minimize obstacles during the establishment of industries, ensuring a smoother path for economic development in the state.
