Asian Games 2023: India Wins Historic Gold in Dressage Team Event

Sports Desk, 26th September: Team India made history at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games by securing their first-ever Equestrian gold medal in the dressage team event. The Indian team, consisting of Divyakriti Singh, Sudipti Hajela, Hriday Chheda, and Anush Agarwalla, achieved this remarkable feat after 41 years.

Anush Agarwalla, riding ETRO, scored the highest with 71.088, followed by Hriday Chheda on Emerald with 69.941, Divyakriti Singh on Adrenalin Firdod with 68.176, and Sudipti Hajela on Chinski with 66.706. The Indian team collectively achieved a remarkable score of 209.205 in the dressage team event, surpassing China’s score of 204.882.

This historic victory marks a significant moment in India’s Equestrian history, with the last medal in dressage, a bronze, dating back to the 1986 Asian Games.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian team for their outstanding achievement in this prestigious competition.
