Asian Games: Esha Singh Clinches Silver Medal in Women’s 25m Pistol Individual Event
Sports Desk, 27th September: Esha Singh, representing India, secured a remarkable silver medal in the Women’s 25m Pistol Individual event at the Asian Games. This achievement comes shortly after her earlier gold win in the Team event, where she partnered with Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwam, at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Centre.
In the Individual event final, Esha Singh, competing alongside the experienced Manu Bhaker, demonstrated her exceptional shooting skills by amassing a total score of 34 points. This outstanding performance earned her the second-place finish, right behind China’s Rui Liu. Notably, Rui Liu established a new Asian Games record with an impressive total of 38 points, surpassing the previous record of 34 points set by India’s Rahi Sarnobat during the 2018 edition in Jakarta/Palembang, Indonesia.
Korea’s Jiin Yang clinched the bronze medal, tallying 29 points, following a shoot-off victory against China’s Sixuan Feng.
Regrettably, India’s Manu Bhaker missed out on a medal, securing the fifth position in the competition. Esha Singh’s exceptional silver-medal win is a testament to her skill and dedication in the sport of pistol shooting, further contributing to India’s achievements at the Asian Games.
