Assam: Major Reshuffle In Police Department, Check The Details

Guwahati, 30th September: In a recent development concerning the reshuffling of key positions within Assam Police, in the Home (A) and Political Department of the Assam Government which is headed by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, 3 state police officials were transferred and posted in various added responsibilities on Friday.

S. N. Singh, IPS (RR-1991), who served as Director of Fire & Emergency Services and held the additional responsibility of Spl. DGP (Communication), has been transferred and appointed as the Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards in Assam, based on the existing vacancy. This change in role is effective immediately and will continue until further notice.

Additionally, Harmeet Singh, IPS (RR-1992), currently holding the position of Spl. DGP (HQ) in Assam and serving as an additional charge of Member at APHCL, Assam, has been entrusted with the added responsibility of overseeing the Directorship of Fire & Emergency Services in Assam. This new responsibility is in addition to his existing duties and comes into effect as of the date he assumes charge, replacing S. N. Singh, IPS.

Furthermore, Akhilesh Kr. Singh, IPS (RR-2003), who currently serves as the Inspector General of Police (TAP) in Assam, has been granted an additional role as the Inspector General of Police (Communication) in Guwahati, Assam. This new responsibility will run concurrently with his current duties and commences on the date he takes over charge, lasting until further orders are issued. These changes are made in the interest of public service and the efficient functioning of key government roles in Assam.
