Guwahati, 3rd October: The convoy of Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi met with an accident in Silchar of Assam on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred when a vehicle from the opposite direction collided with Gaurav Gogoi’s convoy, resulting in a chain reaction involving approximately 10 vehicles, including former minister Ajit Singh’s vehicle. Several Congress workers, including one woman, sustained injuries.
The accident took place at the Maynarband bridge on the Silchar airport road while hundreds of vehicles were escorting MP Gaurav Gogoi from Kumbhirgram airport to Congress Bhavan.
The luxury vehicles in the rally were traveling at high speeds when one vehicle suddenly collided with the one in front, causing damage to about 10 luxury cars.
Following the accident, the police arrived at the scene and assisted in removing the affected vehicles. Meanwhile, Gaurav Gogoi escaped unhurt in the incident.
