2 boys from Meghalaya set to join Hyderabad FC U – 17 team
Guwahati, 3rd October: In a momentous achievement for Meghalaya, two promising young football talents, Bipuish G Marak and Donkam M Marak, have been selected to join Hyderabad FC’s U-17 football team and program, representing one of the country’s top football clubs.
Bipuish, hailing from Dawa Nengkatok in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills, and Donkam, from the remote village of Matalagre near Okkapara in South West Garo Hills, were spotted by scouts from Hyderabad FC while participating in local leagues in their region.
Their journey toward professional football began when they signed the Amateur Consent on September 28, 2023, to play for Hyderabad FC in the Under-17 category.
Bipuish G Marak, a former student of Ferrando Memorial School, showcased his skills while playing for various local clubs in Williamnagar. On the other hand, Donkam M Marak, who studied at Hawakhana Higher Secondary School in Tura, honed his football talent with Chandmary FC in Tura.
PHE Minister Marcuise Marak expressed his heartfelt best wishes to these young athletes and highlighted the significance of initiatives like the ‘Catch ‘Em Young’ football tournament in nurturing future talents. He hoped that the success of Bipuish and Donkam would inspire many more aspiring footballers in the region.
