Meghalaya: Bodies of two missing youths recovered in forest of EKH
Northeast Desk, 4th October: The bodies of two youths who had gone missing on September 20 in Meghalaya’s Marbisu Village have been recovered in Traw Village under Mawngap Police Station.
These two individuals, identified as Phibankyntiew Sun (18) and Wanboklang Kurbah (20), were recovered in a river within the forest of Traw Village.
Tragically, the young girl’s body was found in a decomposed and unrecognizable state on Tuesday afternoon. However, the missing girl’s relatives were able to identify her from a tattoo on her hand after the body was recovered by the police.
Hours later, on Wednesday morning, the body of the boy, Wanboklang, was found approximately 1km away from the location where the girl’s body was discovered.
It was residents who initially found the lifeless body of the girl and promptly informed the police. Both bodies have since been taken by the authorities for further investigation and post-mortem examination at Shillong Civil Hospital.
