Massive Drug Haul in Assam: 1,705 Kilograms of Cannabis Seized

Guwahati, 5th October: In a significant development in the fight against drug smuggling, Assam Police successfully intercepted a dumper in Cachar district on Thursday night, recovering an astonishing 1,705 kilograms of cannabis. Acting on intelligence inputs, Cachar Police conducted a special operation in the Kalain area, where they intercepted the dumper. The vehicle, en route from Tripura to Meghalaya via Assam, was seized in Digorkhal area.

The recovered quantity of cannabis is believed to have a market value of several crores of rupees. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the efforts of Assam Police and shared the news on X. This operation marks another significant step in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
