Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan Gets Y+ Security Amid Death Threats Post Jawan & Pathaan Success
National Desk, 9th October: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been placed under Y+ security due to receiving threat messages following the success of his recent films, Jawan and Pathaan. These threats, which were also spread through social media, emerged during the promotion of Pathaan. With this upgraded security, Khan will now be safeguarded by a team of six police commandos from the Maharashtra Police’s special protection unit.
The Y+ security category involves deploying a total of 11 security personnel, including six commandos, four police officers, and a vehicle for traffic clearance. Additionally, Khan’s residence, Mannat, will be protected by four policemen equipped with MP-5 machine guns, AK-47 assault rifles, and Glock pistols.
Previously, Khan’s security detail consisted of only two police constables. This recent enhancement in his security was authorized by the state home department on October 5. It involved notifying senior police officers and relevant departments, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad.
According to the Maharashtra government’s revised police protection policy of 2017, individuals facing credible life threats can receive security assistance from the Mumbai Police. They are usually required to either pay a fee in advance or deposit a bank guarantee for this protection.
