Assam: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Karimganj District President Detained on Fraud Charges
Guwahati, 9th October: The district unit president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Karimganj, identified as Sainul Haque, has been detained by Karimganj Police on allegations of defrauding government job applicants. Haque was apprehended at his residence in Patiala village, Anipur, by Ram Krishnanagar police.
The accusations against Haque include the collection of substantial sums of money from job seekers, promising those positions as Home Guards, and then deceiving them at the last moment. Previously, individuals who had paid money to Haque reportedly secured Home Guard positions through his influence.
However, a group of job aspirants filed an FIR against the AAP district president at the Ram Krishnanagar police station, prompting the police investigation. It has also been revealed that Haque himself served as a Home Guard jawan and had leveraged his political connections to secure Home Guard appointments.
Currently, Karimganj police are conducting an interrogation of Sainul Haque at the Ram Krishnanagar police station as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged fraud.
