Assam’s Ace Pugilist Lovlina Borgohain Returns Home with Silver Medal from Asian Games
Guwahati, 11th October: Ace pugilist Lovlina Borgohain has returned to her home state of Assam on October 11, after winning a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.
Borgohain arrived at Guwahati’s Borjhar, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in the morning, where the state administration gave her a warm welcome.
She represented both India and Assam in the women’s 75-kilogram boxing category at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023. Borgohain secured the silver medal after her loss to China’s Li Qian in the finals on October 4.
On October 3, Borgohain had reached the finals, becoming the fourth Indian boxer to earn a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
