Bihar train accident: Injured man from Assam hospitalised in AIIMS Patna
Northeast Desk, 14th October: A man from Assam, identified as Sirajul Islam, currently recuperates at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Patna after being injured in the recent derailment of the North East Express in Bihar.
The derailment occurred near Raghunathpur in Bihar, resulting in serious injuries to Sirajul Islam. His condition is described as critical as he receives treatment at AIIMS Patna.
It needs to be noted that Sirajul Islam was employed as a Coach Attendant on the North East Express train when the accident transpired.
The train, en route from Delhi’s Anand Vihar station to Kamakhya in Assam, experienced the derailment of at least 23 coaches on the night of October 11, around 9:53 pm.
This incident led to the loss of four passengers’ lives, including a mother and daughter from Tinsukia district in Assam.
The accident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of rail safety and disaster response measures in ensuring the well-being of passengers.
