Tripura Police Seize Yaba Tablets Worth Rs 4.50 Crore, 1 Held
Northeast Desk, 14th October: In a significant operation, Tripura Police arrested one individual and confiscated Yaba tablets valued at approximately Rs 4.50 crore in Bagbassa, a region that shares a border with Assam and Mizoram.
The North District Superintendent of Police, Bhanupada Chakraborty, stated that acting on a tip-off, officers from the Bagbassa police station conducted a meticulous search operation.
During the operation, a 12-wheeler lorry loaded with cement was detained and checked. Police discovered a hidden chamber inside the truck containing 90,000 Yaba tablets.
The arrested driver, identified as Debabrata Dey, is currently under interrogation. Proceedings have been initiated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The seizure of Yaba tablets worth Rs 4.50 crore reflects law enforcement’s efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
