Mizoram: 3-Year-Old Boy Drowns While Saving Friend

Northeast Desk, 16th October: In a heart-wrenching incident, a young child lost his life while attempting to save his friend in Sairang, Mizoram.

Three-year-old Leo Lalchhuanmawia, the son of R Zoramchhan, drowned during his courageous effort to rescue his friend, Jerome, who had accidentally fallen into a swimming pool.

According to Jerome’s account, Leo sprang into action when he saw his friend struggling in the pool after the fall. They were residing near a picnic spot, and when their parents discovered the two boys, both were found struggling to stay afloat in the pool.

Both children were rushed to the nearby Sairang hospital, but, tragically, Leo could not be saved. Jerome, however, was rescued in time.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga expressed his condolences over the young boy’s tragic loss and commended his remarkable bravery. Such incidents serve as a poignant reminder of the unpredictable nature of accidents and the heroism that can emerge, even from the youngest among us.
