National Desk, 16th October: The Allahabad High Court has acquitted the two main accused, Surendra Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher, in multiple cases related to the infamous 2006 Nithari killings case.

Surendra Koli, the primary accused, has been acquitted in 12 cases for which he was originally sentenced to death by the trial court. Koli was found guilty of ten cases connected to the murders in the Nithari killings.

Moninder Singh Pandher, the other accused, has been acquitted in two cases for which he was initially sentenced to death.

Both Surendra Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher were accused in the notorious Nithari serial killings in Noida. The case gained widespread attention when the remains of minors were discovered in a drain near a house in Nithari in December 2006.

The case alleged that Koli would entice young children from nearby areas to the house, where he would reportedly murder them and commit heinous acts with the victims’ remains. The case also raised concerns of cannibalism.

Businessman Moninder Singh Pandher, Koli’s employer, was accused of rape and murder in connection with the case.
