Assam: 10 Including Women and Children Injured in Fox Attack

Guwahati, 17th October: At least 10 people including women and children were injured in an apparent fox attack in Kamrup district of Assam.

The incident occurred at Milanpur of the district.

As per reports, the fox, typically known for its non-threatening nature, displayed unusual aggression, biting and scratching several residents and livestock before fleeing into the woods.

The injured individuals were rushed to a local hospital, with one woman, Niral Kalita (45), sustaining grievous injuries and being referred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

On Tuesday morning, the fox attacked another woman, prompting angry residents to take matters into their own hands and beat the fox to death before burying the carcass.

The forest authorities have been informed of the incident.

Man-animal conflicts have become a common phenomenon in Assam, as evidenced by a recent incident in Goalpara district where a woman identified as Mehbuba Alam Ahmed was killed by a wild elephant during her routine morning walk in the Bhalukdubi locality of Goalpara.
