Mizoram: MP Rahul Gandhi Rides Pillion during his visit in Aizawl
Northeast Desk, 17th October: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi embarked on a three-day visit to Mizoram to kickstart the party’s campaign for the November 7 Assembly polls in the northeastern state.
On October 17, he was spotted riding as a pillion passenger on a two-wheeler to reach the residence of former Mizoram CM Lal Thanhawla.
Gandhi had arrived in Mizoram on October 16 and conducted a padayatra to Raj Bhawan.
Following the padayatra, he delivered a passionate speech at a rally near the governor’s house, strongly criticizing the ruling BJP.
Rahul Gandhi also raised concerns about the government’s alleged neglect of the issues faced by minority groups, especially tribals in the country, accusing them of prioritizing political appeasement over addressing these concerns.
He expressed disappointment that the violence in Manipur was being largely ignored and called for greater attention to the struggles of minority groups and tribals, emphasizing that the very idea of India was under threat.
