CM N. Biren Singh Announces Rehabilitation Scheme for Manipur Violence Victims

Northeast Desk, 19th October: In a significant effort to aid the rehabilitation of those displaced during the recent violence in Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has unveiled an ambitious scheme aimed at rebuilding their homes and lives. The scheme includes financial support, with Rs 10 lakhs allocated for constructing pucca houses to replace those that were destroyed and Rs 5 lakhs for kachha houses.

Known as the “CM Support Scheme,” it is part of the broader “One Family One Livelihood” program that will provide assistance to distressed families, with potential support of up to Rs 10 lakhs.

This commitment from the Chief Minister offers hope and relief to the families impacted by the recent violence.

During his visit to Ukhrul, where he inaugurated various projects worth Rs. 64.38 crores, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also revealed plans to transform Ukhrul into a “summer city” to boost tourism and address land issues related to the town’s expansion, including the establishment of a new Ukhrul township.
